A mentoring program for aspiring writers with screenplays in early development stage. The participants will develop and hone their stories while gaining valuable storytelling tools and the grounding needed for professional scriptwriting.
LEARNING AND TEACHING
A mentoring program for aspiring writers with screenplays in early development stage. The participants will develop and hone their stories while gaining valuable storytelling tools and the grounding needed for becoming a professional scriptwriter. During the workshop the participants will re-write their synopsis, complete a treatment and receive comprehensive feedback on their work. Some may even move onto the first draft of their screenplay. It is important to note that selected participants are expected to read others’ projects as a part of the development process and commit to taking part in all sessions.
WHO CAN APPLY?
Writers with a project in early development stage who wish to become better prepared before entering the script writing phase.

Intermediate and advanced.
HOW CAN I APPLY?
The participants will be selected based on a
- Synopsis (1-2 pages).
- Writer’s Statement (1-2) pages) and.
- CV.
GOAL
During the workshop the participants will re-write their synopsis, complete a treatment and receive comprehensive feedback on their work.
Melisa is a scriptwriter and story editor born and raised in Finland. She received her MA degree in Playwriting and Script Development from Exeter University, where she graduated with Distinctions. Melisa’s autobiographical creative documentary “Daddy’s Girl” was supported by the Finnish Film Foundation and YLE. The film premiered at the 58. DOK Leipzig in 2015.
Melisa began to engage with commissioned work in 2016 as a scriptwriter and later a story consultant in the animation series “Limon and Oli”, Turkey's first Disney cooperation. She attended !f Sundance Screenwriters Lab 2017 and Torino Film Lab’s 2019 Script- Lab as a story editor. She taught Screenwriting and Art of Storytelling at Bahcesehir and Sehir University between 2018-2020. Melisa lives in Istanbul, where she continues doing commissioned work in feature and series formats. She is the co-creator and scriptwriter of a daring female driven psychological drama series The Truth and Other Blindspots and is currently developing an original youth series concept Problem Child as the writer and creator.
